Lauren Bennett currently serves as the Assistant Principal at the WCS Fernhill campus. She originally joined the WCS community in 2014 as a Second Grade Teacher. Lauren wanted to be a teacher since she was a second grader herself and is passionate about creating warm and welcoming learning communities. She has ten years of teaching experience in charter schools in Philadelphia, as well as a year of teaching in South Dakota at the Pierre Indian Learning Center. Lauren has earned her Master's in Education and has a Special Education certification as well. She is a fellow of the Pennsylvania Writing Project and loves all things literacy. Lauren lives in Mt. Airy with her husband, Tim, and their three children, Charlie, Max, and Ivy.
