Report Card Conferences starting Thursday December 12th, early dismissal at 12:45 pm. No school Friday, December 13th.


 
Wissahickon Charter School is a tuition-free public charter school open to the children of Philadelphia and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. There is no admissions test.

 

 
Applying to Both Sites

You can apply to both sites. To be entered into both school lotteries, you must check off both sites when you complete the application.  You must also submit a separate application for each child. If your child is selected in the first lottery for Awbury, s/he/they will be withdrawn from the Fernhill lottery. If your child is not selected in the first lottery and you have applied to both sites, s/he/they will be entered into the Fernhill lottery.

 

Kindergarten Eligibility

To be eligible for kindergarten in the 2024-2025 school year, the student must be 5 years old on or before September 1. Students born after 9/1/2019 are not five years old and will not have reached the School District entry age for kindergarten.

 

1st Grade Eligibility

To be eligible for first grade in the 2024-2025 school year, the student must be 6 years old on or before September 1.

Applicants Outside Philadelphia

Children who live outside of Philadelphia can apply if every interested child in Philadelphia has already been accepted.
