Gina Minor has extensive experience in the charter school world and has served in many education-related roles. Before she came to Wissahickon Charter School, she taught all subjects to seventh graders at University Institute Charter School for four years and then served as a lead teacher for their first and second grade cohort. Gina came to WCS in 2007 and taught sixth grade math and science for five years, working enthusiastically and diligently on the middle school team and with student extracurricular activities. She accepted a Middle School Dean of Students position at Independence Charter in 2012 and returned to WCS the following year as the Dean of Culture. When WCS expanded to its second site in 2014, Ms. Minor was selected as its first Middle School Director.
In her role as the Awbury Middle School Director, Gina not only oversees the middle school team of educators to help better support the middle school students, but she is also at the forefront of establishing a positive school culture at this recently opened school. A graduate of Temple University’s Masters in Education program, she is dedicated and skilled at turning the latent potential of students into reality. Her two children, Jordan and Jazelle, are among the first cohort of WCS’ new Awbury campus.
