Welcome to Fernhill
The outside of the school building features student art, like our mosaic mural. Students gather here during arrival and dismissal.
The Fernhill site was Wissahickon's original campus.
Students walk as a class to their classroom each morning and are greeted by their teacher.
Students practice "shining in line" throughout the school year.
Each classroom is unique, with spaces for students to learn, play, and create, independently and in groups.
Every lower school classroom has a rug where a daily Morning Meeting is held.
Each class visits the art room once a week for a chance to flex their creative muscles.
Student artwork takes many forms at Wissahickon, and can be found displayed throughout the site.
Our elementary school students have access to an onsite playground and Fernhill Park, which is located across the street. Each grade alternates between the two spaces for recess.
At Wissahickon, we seek to provide frequent opportunities for learning outdoors.
The Commons is a flexible space designed with our Middle School students in mind.
Middle school students gather here in the morning upon arrival, and return throughout the day for small group work, and independent study time.
